न शीतं च न चोष्णे च लब्धालब्धं विचिन्तयेत् ॥ न तिक्तेनास्ति कटुना मधुराम्लैर्न लावणैः ॥

na śītaṁ ca na coṣṇe ca labdhālabdhaṁ vicintayet || na tiktenāsti kaṭunā madhurāmlair na lāvaṇaiḥ ||

തണുപ്പിനെയോ ചൂടിനെയോ, ലഭിച്ചതോ ലഭിക്കാത്തതോ എന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചോ ചിന്തിച്ച് അലഞ്ഞുകൂടാ. കയ്പ്, കാരം, മധുരം, പുളി, ഉപ്പ് എന്നിവയിലേക്കുള്ള രുചിയാൽ നയിക്കപ്പെടരുത്.
