māghamāse tilā deyāstiladhenuśca dānava indhanādīni ca tathā mādhavaprīṇanāya tu

മാഘമാസത്തിൽ എള്ള് ദാനം ചെയ്യണം; ഓ ദാനവാ! ‘തിലധേനം’ (എള്ളുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ധേനുദാനം) ദാനവും ചെയ്യണം. കൂടാതെ ഇന്ധനം മുതലായ ആവശ്യവസ്തുക്കളും—ഇവ മാധവൻ (വിഷ്ണു) തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി.
