नारद उवाच किर्मथमद्रिं भगवानगस्त्यस्तं निम्नशृङ्गं कृतवान् महर्षिः कस्मै कृते केन च कारणेन एतद् वदस्वामलसत्त्ववृत्ते

നാരദൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഭഗവാൻ മഹർഷി അഗസ്ത്യൻ കിർമഥ (അഥവാ വിന്ധ്യ) പർവ്വതത്തെ എങ്ങനെ നിമ്നശിഖരമാക്കി? ആരുടെ നിമിത്തം, ഏതു കാരണത്താൽ അദ്ദേഹം അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു? ഹേ അമലസത്ത്വവൃത്തിയുള്ളവനേ, ഇത് പറയുക.
