Yogatattva

इडया वायुमारोप्य शनैः षोडशमात्रया । कुम्भयेत्पूरितं पश्चाच्चतुःषष्ट्या तु मात्रया ॥

रेचयेत्पिङ्गलानाड्या द्वात्रिंशन्मात्रया पुनः । पुनः पिङ्गलयापूर्य पूर्ववत्सुसमाहितः ॥

प्रातर्मध्यन्दिने सायमर्धरात्रे च कुम्भकान् । शनैरशीतिपर्यन्तं चतुर्वारं समभ्यसेत् ॥

एवं मासत्रयाभ्यासान्नाडीशुद्धिस्ततो भवेत् । यदा तु नाडीशुद्धिः स्यात्तदा चिह्नानि बाह्यतः ॥

इडया । वायुम् । आरोप्य । शनैः । षोडश-मात्रया । कुम्भयेत् । पूरितम् । पश्चात् । चतुः-षष्ट्या । तु । मात्रया ॥

रेचयेत् । पिङ्गला-नाड्या । द्वात्रिंशत्-मात्रया । पुनः । पुनः । पिङ्गलया । पूर्य । पूर्ववत् । सु-समाहितः ॥

प्रातर् । मध्यन्दिने । सायम् । अर्ध-रात्रे । च । कुम्भकान् । शनैः । अशीति-पर्यन्तम् । चतुḥ-वारम् । समभ्यसेत् ॥

एवम् । मास-त्रय-अभ्यासात् । नाडी-शुद्धिः । ततः । भवेत् । यदा । तु । नाडी-शुद्धिः । स्यात् । तदा । चिह्नानि । बाह्यतः ॥

iḍayā vāyum āropya śanaiḥ ṣoḍaśamātrayā | kumbhayet pūritaṃ paścāc catuḥṣaṣṭyā tu mātrayā ||

recayet piṅgalānāḍyā dvātriṃśanmātrayā punaḥ | punaḥ piṅgalayāpūrya pūrvavat susamāhitaḥ ||

prātar madhyandine sāyam ardharātre ca kumbhakān | śanair aśītiparyantaṃ caturvāraṃ samabhyaset ||

evaṃ māsatrayābhyāsān nāḍīśuddhis tato bhavet | yadā tu nāḍīśuddhiḥ syāt tadā cihnāni bāhyataḥ ||

ഇഡാ വഴി പതുക്കെ പതിനാറു മാത്ര വരെ പൂരകം ചെയ്ത്, പിന്നെ നിറഞ്ഞ പ്രാണനെ അറുപത്തിനാലു മാത്ര വരെ കുംഭകത്തിൽ ധാരണം ചെയ്യണം. തുടർന്ന് പിംഗലാ നാഡി വഴി മുപ്പത്തിരണ്ടു മാത്രയിൽ രേചനം ചെയ്യണം; വീണ്ടും പിംഗലാ വഴി പൂരകം ചെയ്ത്, മുൻപുപോലെ സുസമാഹിതനായി ഇരിക്കണം. പ്രഭാതം, മധ്യാഹ്നം, സായാഹ്നം, അർദ്ധരാത്രി—ഈ നാലു സമയങ്ങളിലും—കുംഭകങ്ങൾ അഭ്യസിക്കണം; പതുക്കെ എൺപത് (ആവർത്തനം) വരെ, നാലു പ്രാവശ്യം അഭ്യാസം ചെയ്യണം. ഇങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു മാസം അഭ്യാസം ചെയ്താൽ നാഡീശുദ്ധി ഉണ്ടാകും; നാഡീശുദ്ധി സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ ബാഹ്യലക്ഷണങ്ങളും പ്രത്യക്ഷമാകും.

[Same as Yogatattva.41] Having drawn the breath in through iḍā slowly for sixteen mātrās, he should retain the filled (breath) thereafter for sixty-four mātrās. He should exhale through the piṅgalā-nāḍī for thirty-two mātrās; again, having inhaled through piṅgalā, remaining well-collected as before. In the morning, at midday, in the evening, and at midnight, he should practice kumbhakas four times, gradually up to eighty (rounds). By practice for three months in this way, purification of the nāḍīs arises. And when nāḍī-purification occurs, then there are outward signs.
