bandha iti ca anādi-avidyā-vāsanayā jāto ’ham ity-ādi-saṅkalpo bandhaḥ ||18||

Translation

“ബന്ധം” എന്നു പറയുന്നത് അനാദി അവിദ്യയുടെ വാസനയിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ച ‘ഞാൻ’ മുതലായ സങ്കൽപം; അഹംപ്രത്യയാദി ചിന്താരചന തന്നെയാണ് ബന്ധം.

Academic Translation

And ‘bondage’ is the thought-construct beginning with ‘I’ (aham, etc.), arisen from the latent tendencies (vāsanā) of beginningless ignorance.
