Verse 33

Brahmavidya

देहस्थः सकलो ज्ञेयो निष्कलो देहवर्जितः । आप्तोपदेशगम्योऽसौ सर्वतः समवस्थितः ॥३३॥

देहस्थः सकलः ज्ञेयः निष्कलः देह-वर्जितः । आप्त-उपदेश-गम्यः असौ सर्वतः समवस्थितः ।

dehasthaḥ sakalo jñeyo niṣkalo dehavarjitaḥ | āptopadeśagamyo 'sau sarvataḥ samavasthitaḥ ||33||

ദേഹത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതനായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവൻ ‘സകല’ (ഗുണ-അവയവസഹിതൻ) എന്നു അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവൻ ‘നിഷ്കല’—ദേഹവിരഹിതൻ, അവയവരഹിതൻ. ആപ്തന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിലൂടെ അവൻ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു; എല്ലായിടത്തും സമമായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു.

When situated in the body, He is to be known as ‘with parts/attributes’ (sakala); (yet) He is partless (niṣkala), free from the body. He is knowable through the instruction of a trustworthy authority (āpta); He is equally present everywhere.
