Avadhuta Upanishad 9 — Verse 9

यथा रविः सर्वरसान् प्रभुङ्क्ते हुताशनश्चापि हि सर्वभक्षः । तथैव योगी विषयान् प्रभुङ्क्ते न लिप्यते पुण्यपापैश्च शुद्धः ॥९॥

यथा । रविः । सर्व-रसान् । प्रभुङ्क्ते । हुताशनः । च । अपि । हि । सर्व-भक्षः । तथा । एव । योगी । विषयान् । प्रभुङ्क्ते । न । लिप्यते । पुण्य-पापैः । च । शुद्धः ॥९॥

yathā raviḥ sarvarasān prabhuṅkte hutāśanaścāpi hi sarvabhakṣaḥ | tathaiva yogī viṣayān prabhuṅkte na lipyate puṇyapāpaiś ca śuddhaḥ ||9||

സൂര്യൻ സർവരസങ്ങളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, അഗ്നി സർവഭക്ഷകനായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, യോഗിയും വിഷയങ്ങളെ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു; ശുദ്ധനായതിനാൽ അവൻ പുണ്യപാപങ്ങളിൽ ലിപ്തനാകുന്നില്ല.

As the sun consumes (draws up) all essences, and as fire indeed is an eater of all, so too the yogin consumes objects; being pure, he is not tainted by merit and demerit.
