deśakālaparijñānaṃ pātrāpātravivecanam | chāyā nṛṇāṃ na vaktavyā takrāgnīṃdhanakāṃjikam

Translation

ദേശ-കാലം അറിഞ്ഞ് പാത്ര-അപാത്ര വിവേചനം പുലർത്തണം. മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ ‘നിഴൽ’ (നിന്ദാവാക്കുകൾ) പറയരുത്; കൂടാതെ മോര്, അഗ്നി, ഇന്ധനം, കാഞ്ചി തുടങ്ങിയ തുച്ഛ കാര്യങ്ങളിൽ അനാവശ്യമായി സംസാരിക്കരുത്।
