छिन्ने त्वद्यापि तत्रैव सुरक्तं संप्रदृश्यते । विष्णुक्षेत्रं हि तत्प्रोक्तं शंखो यत्र हतः पुरा
chinne tvadyāpi tatraiva suraktaṃ saṃpradṛśyate | viṣṇukṣetraṃ hi tatproktaṃ śaṃkho yatra hataḥ purā
ഇന്നും അത് മുറിച്ചാൽ അവിടെയേ തന്നെ തിളങ്ങുന്ന ചുവന്ന വർണ്ണം കാണപ്പെടുന്നു. ആ സ്ഥലം വിഷ്ണുക്ഷേത്രമെന്നു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു; പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് അവിടെ ശംഖൻ വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടു.
