हास्यं चकार दैत्योऽथ विष्णुनाऽक्रांतकंधरः । तमाह पुण्डरीकाक्ष किमेतद्धास्यकारणम्
hāsyaṃ cakāra daityo'tha viṣṇunā'krāṃtakaṃdharaḥ | tamāha puṇḍarīkākṣa kimetaddhāsyakāraṇam
അപ്പോൾ വിഷ്ണുവാൽ കഴുത്ത് അമർത്തപ്പെട്ട ദൈത്യൻ ചിരിച്ചു. പുണ്ഡരീകാക്ഷൻ ചോദിച്ചു—“ഈ ചിരിയുടെ കാരണം എന്ത്?”
