अस्मिन्स्थाने सदा तिष्ठ मुनीनां हितकाम्यया । कंटकाः शोषिता दैत्यास्तेन कंटकशोषिणी । अद्यप्रभृति नामास्तु तेन देवि सदा त्विह
asminsthāne sadā tiṣṭha munīnāṃ hitakāmyayā | kaṃṭakāḥ śoṣitā daityāstena kaṃṭakaśoṣiṇī | adyaprabhṛti nāmāstu tena devi sadā tviha
മുനികളുടെ ഹിതം ആഗ്രഹിച്ച്, ഹേ ദേവീ, നീ ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് സദാ വസിക്കണമേ. നീ ദൈത്യരൂപമായ ‘മുള്ളുകൾ’ ശോഷിച്ച് (നശിപ്പിച്ച്) കളഞ്ഞതിനാൽ, ഇവിടെ നിന്റെ നാമം ‘കണ്ടകശോഷിണീ’ ആകട്ടെ. ഇന്നുമുതൽ, ഹേ ദേവീ, അതേ നാമത്തോടെ നീ ഇവിടെ എപ്പോഴും വിരാജിക്കണമേ.
