yadi tuṣṭo'si me deva varaṃ dātuṃ mamecchasi | tanme kathaya deveśa sāṃprataṃ tīrthavistaram
Devī (Pārvatī)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (tīrtha-vistara to be revealed)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Deveśa (the Lord)
Scene: The Devī, having been offered any boon, asks not for wealth but for a revelation: ‘tell me now the full expanse of the tīrthas’; she gestures toward a scroll or map, while the Lord prepares to teach.
Pilgrimage knowledge (tīrtha-vistara) is treated as a boon—spiritual geography is a sacred teaching.
Prabhāsakṣetra forms the narrative base; the verse initiates a broader survey of tīrthas across the world.
No direct rite; the request anticipates teachings on visiting, bathing, and hearing about tīrthas.
