ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ മഹാദേവീ! ‘കൗരവ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്റെ ഉത്തരഭാഗത്ത് ഭദ്രകാളി അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരമായ തപസ്സു ചെയ്തു.
