evaṃ pavitratāṃ prāptastīrthatvaṃ lava ṇodadhiḥ | tasya madhye mahādevi liṃgānāṃ paṃcakoṭayaḥ
Śiva (Īśvara)
Tirtha: Lavaṇodadhi at Prabhāsa
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devī (Mahādevī)
Scene: A vast, shimmering sea is portrayed as purified and transformed into a tīrtha; beneath the waves, countless Śiva-liṅgas are envisioned like a submerged cosmic shrine, while the narrator addresses Devī.
Even the vast ocean becomes a tīrtha through sanctity; Śiva’s presence pervades sacred geography in immeasurable forms.
The Lavaṇodadhi (Salt Ocean) connected with the Prabhāsa-kṣetra sacred region.
No direct rite is prescribed here; the verse establishes the ocean’s tīrtha-status and the abundance of liṅgas within it.
