ādiṣṭo guruṇā yaśca vikalpaṃ yadi gacchati | nāsau siddhimavāpnoti maṃdabhāgyo yathā nidhim
Skanda (deduced from Prabhāsa-khaṇḍa māhātmya narrative style)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A disciple stands at a crossroads of wavering thoughts after receiving a guru’s instruction; nearby, a ‘hidden treasure’ is indicated by a subtle mark on the ground, yet the ill-fated seeker walks away, symbolizing missed siddhi due to doubt.
Wavering after receiving guru-instruction destroys the momentum of sādhana and prevents siddhi.
The instruction is framed within Prabhāsakṣetra teachings; it emphasizes the pilgrim’s inner discipline more than a named spot.
Hold firmly to the Guru’s upadeśa and avoid vikalpa (doubt) during japa and meditation.
