evamuktastatastena sārathiḥ praviveśa ha | grahītumupacakrāma tatpadmaṃ varavarṇini | spṛṣṭamātre tadā padme huṃkāraḥ samapadyata
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (protective lotus-kuṇḍa episode)
Type: kund
Listener: Addressed as 'varavarṇinī' in the verse (a fair-complexioned female listener within the narrative frame)
Scene: The charioteer wades into the lake, reaching toward the great lotus. At the instant his fingers touch the petals, the air vibrates with a fierce ‘huṃ’—ripples explode outward, birds scatter, and the light around the lotus hardens into a protective aura.
The holy is protected by unseen law; violating sacred boundaries triggers immediate correction, teaching reverence and restraint.
The divine lake setting (Mānasasaras context) is presented as spiritually potent and guarded.
None; instead, the verse implies a prohibition: do not seize or disturb sacred manifestations.
