सर्वे विषादमापन्ना बांधवाश्च परे जनाः । अशोभनमिदं वाक्यं कन्यया यत्प्रभाषितम् । इत्युक्त्वा तु गताः सर्वे जननीजनबांधवाः
sarve viṣādamāpannā bāṃdhavāśca pare janāḥ | aśobhanamidaṃ vākyaṃ kanyayā yatprabhāṣitam | ityuktvā tu gatāḥ sarve jananījanabāṃdhavāḥ
അപ്പോൾ അവളുടെ ബന്ധുക്കളും മറ്റു ജനങ്ങളും എല്ലാവരും വിഷാദത്തിലായി— “കന്യ പറഞ്ഞ ഈ വാക്ക് ശോഭനമല്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് മാതൃപക്ഷക്കാരോടുകൂടി ബന്ധുക്കളെല്ലാം അവിടെ നിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു।
