तस्मात्त्वं देहि नः श्राद्धं गत्वा क्षेत्रं तु वैष्णवम् । नामगोत्राणि चादाय मोक्षं यास्यामहे ततः
tasmāttvaṃ dehi naḥ śrāddhaṃ gatvā kṣetraṃ tu vaiṣṇavam | nāmagotrāṇi cādāya mokṣaṃ yāsyāmahe tataḥ
അതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങൾ വൈഷ്ണവക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി ശ്രാദ്ധം നടത്തുക; ഞങ്ങളുടെ നാമവും ഗോത്രവും സ്വീകരിച്ചാൽ പിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ മോക്ഷം പ്രാപിക്കും।

Scene: Pretas, now more hopeful, instruct the brāhmaṇa to go to a Vaiṣṇava kṣetra and perform śrāddha with their names and gotras; a vision of Hari’s shrine appears as a luminous destination.
Proper śrāddha, done with identity (name and gotra) and in a sanctified locale, is portrayed as a powerful means for the departed to gain mokṣa.
