candra uvāca | ahaṃ śaptastu dakṣeṇa kasmiṃścitkāraṇāṃtare | yakṣmaṇā ca kṣayaṃ nītastasmāttvaṃ trātumarhasi
Candra (Soma)
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Śaṃbhu (Śiva)
Scene: Candra, dimmed and emaciated by yakṣmā, stands with folded hands before Śiva, confessing Dakṣa’s curse and pleading for rescue; his lunar glow is faint, suggesting waning vitality.
Even celestial beings seek refuge in Śiva; surrender and truthful confession are portrayed as the doorway to grace.
Prabhāsakṣetra, the setting where Candra approaches Śiva for deliverance.
None explicitly; the verse centers on śaraṇāgati (seeking refuge) and prayer for rescue.
