ततः प्रभृति तत्क्षेत्रं प्रभासमिति विश्रुतम् । निष्प्रभस्य प्रभा दत्ता प्रभासं तेन चोच्यते

Transliteration

tataḥ prabhṛti tatkṣetraṃ prabhāsamiti viśrutam | niṣprabhasya prabhā dattā prabhāsaṃ tena cocyate

Translation

അന്നുമുതൽ ആ ക്ഷേത്രം ‘പ്രഭാസ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമായി. പ്രഭയറ്റവന് പ്രഭ നൽകിയതിനാൽ അതിനെ ‘പ്രഭാസ’ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു.
