पितॄन्हत्वा सुमाली च तमाराधितवान्पुरा । सोऽपि मुक्तोऽभवद्देवि पापात्पितृवधोद्भवात्
pitṝnhatvā sumālī ca tamārādhitavānpurā | so'pi mukto'bhavaddevi pāpātpitṛvadhodbhavāt
സുമാലിയും—പുരാതനകാലത്ത് പിതൃകളെ വധിച്ച്—അവനെ (ശിവനെ) ഭക്തിയോടെ ആരാധിച്ചു. ഹേ ദേവീ, പിതൃവധജന്യ പാപത്തിൽ നിന്നു അവനും മോചിതനായി।
