पिता भुंक्ते द्विज करे मुखे भुंक्ते पितामहः । प्रपितामहस्तालुस्थः कण्ठे मातामहः स्मृतः
pitā bhuṃkte dvija kare mukhe bhuṃkte pitāmahaḥ | prapitāmahastālusthaḥ kaṇṭhe mātāmahaḥ smṛtaḥ
പിതാവ് ബ്രാഹ്മണന്റെ കൈയിൽ നിന്നു ഭോഗം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നു; പിതാമഹൻ അവന്റെ വായിൽ ഭോഗിക്കുന്നു. പ്രപിതാമഹൻ താലുവിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നും മാതാമഹൻ കണ്ഠത്തിൽ വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നും സ്മൃതിയിൽ പറയുന്നു।
