शतं सहस्रगुर्दद्यात्सर्वे समफलाः स्मृताः । सुशीला सोमसंपन्ना तरुणी च पयस्विनी । सवत्सा न्यायलब्धा च प्रदेया ब्राह्मणाय गौः

Transliteration

śataṃ sahasragurdadyātsarve samaphalāḥ smṛtāḥ | suśīlā somasaṃpannā taruṇī ca payasvinī | savatsā nyāyalabdhā ca pradeyā brāhmaṇāya gauḥ

Translation

ശതഗുണമോ സഹസ്രഗുണമോ ദക്ഷിണയോടെ ദാനം ചെയ്യാം—ഇവയെല്ലാം സമഫലപ്രദമെന്ന് സ്മൃതികൾ പറയുന്നു. ബ്രാഹ്മണനു നൽകേണ്ട ഗാവ് സുസ്വഭാവിനി, പോഷിത, യുവതി, പാൽ തരുന്ന, കിടാവോടുകൂടിയ, ന്യായമായി ലഭിച്ചവയായിരിക്കണം.
