ईश्वर उवाच । अथ दैत्यावताराणां क्रमो हि कथ्यते पुनः । हिरण्यकशिपू राजा वर्षाणामर्बुदं बभौ
īśvara uvāca | atha daityāvatārāṇāṃ kramo hi kathyate punaḥ | hiraṇyakaśipū rājā varṣāṇāmarbudaṃ babhau
ഈശ്വരൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഇപ്പോൾ ദൈത്യാവതാരങ്ങളുടെ ക്രമം വീണ്ടും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. രാജാവായ ഹിരണ്യകശിപു ഒരു അർബുദ വർഷങ്ങൾ നിലനിന്നു (ഭരിച്ചു)।
