വാരാഹകല്പത്തിന്റെ വൃത്താന്തം ആധാരമാക്കി, അതിൽ പരാത്പര പരമേശ്വരൻ സമസ്ത ധർമ്മങ്ങളെയും ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന പുരാണത്തെ പണ്ഡിതർ ‘വൈഷ്ണവം’ എന്നു അറിയുന്നു.
