शंकर उवाच । मम लिंगं सहस्राक्ष उत्थितं तु पुनःपुनः । वज्रेणाच्छादयत्येव भयेन महता वृतः
śaṃkara uvāca | mama liṃgaṃ sahasrākṣa utthitaṃ tu punaḥpunaḥ | vajreṇācchādayatyeva bhayena mahatā vṛtaḥ
ശങ്കരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഹേ സഹസ്രാക്ഷാ (ഇന്ദ്രാ), എന്റെ ലിംഗം വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ഉയർന്നു വരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ നീ മഹാഭയത്തിൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ട് അതിനെ വജ്രംകൊണ്ട് മറയ്ക്കുന്നതേയുള്ളു.”
