ईश्वर उवाच । आसीत्पुरा महादेवि सती चाध मयोनिजा । अक्षमालेति वै नाम्ना सतीधर्मपरायणा
īśvara uvāca | āsītpurā mahādevi satī cādha mayonijā | akṣamāleti vai nāmnā satīdharmaparāyaṇā
ഈശ്വരൻ പറഞ്ഞു - ഹേ മഹാദേവീ! പണ്ട് അക്ഷമാല എന്ന് പേരുള്ള ഒരു പതിവ്രതയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. താഴ്ന്ന കുലത്തിൽ ജനിച്ചവളാണെങ്കിലും അവൾ സതീധർമ്മത്തിൽ നിഷ്ഠയുള്ളവളായിരുന്നു.
