jaya saṃkalpasaṃsiddhe jaya trailokyasuṃdari | jaya śuṃbhaniśuṃbhaghne jaya padme'drisaṃbhave
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating within the Prabhāsa Māhātmya context
Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Devī as radiant Trailokya-sundarī, holding lotus (Padmā) yet armed for battle; Śumbha and Niśumbha appear as defeated asuras; a pilgrim makes saṅkalpa with water in hand before a shrine, sea and temple behind.
When resolve is grounded in dharma, Devī perfects it; she also destroys arrogance and oppression symbolized by Śumbha and Niśumbha.
Prabhāsa Kṣetra, within whose māhātmya Devī’s victory-names are celebrated.
No direct prescription; the verse is ideal for sankalpa-related prayer and stotra recitation.
