ततो गोप्यो महादेवि आद्या याः षोडश स्मृताः । तासां नामानि ते वक्ष्ये तानि ह्मेकमनाः शृणु
tato gopyo mahādevi ādyā yāḥ ṣoḍaśa smṛtāḥ | tāsāṃ nāmāni te vakṣye tāni hmekamanāḥ śṛṇu
അനന്തരം, ഹേ മഹാദേവി, സ്മരിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ആ ആദിയായ പതിനാറു ഗോപിമാരുടെ നാമങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് പറയും; നീ ഏകാഗ്രചിത്തത്തോടെ ശ്രവിക്കൂ।
