रूपार्थं चरतेऽरण्यं चरंती सुमहत्तपः । मतं मे ब्रह्मणो वाक्याद्यदि ते देव रोचते । रूपं निर्वर्त्तयाम्यद्य तव कांतं दिवस्पते

rūpārthaṃ carate'raṇyaṃ caraṃtī sumahattapaḥ | mataṃ me brahmaṇo vākyādyadi te deva rocate | rūpaṃ nirvarttayāmyadya tava kāṃtaṃ divaspate

യോഗ്യമായ രൂപം തേടി അവൾ അരണ്യത്തിൽ വസിച്ച് മഹത്തായ തപസ്സു ചെയ്യുന്നു. ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം—ഹേ ദേവാ, ഹേ ദിവസ്പതേ, നിനക്കിഷ്ടമെങ്കിൽ ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ നിനക്കായി പ്രിയവും മനോഹരവുമായ രൂപം നിർമ്മിച്ചു തരാം.
