Narrator (Purāṇic narrator within Prabhāsakṣetra-māhātmya; exact speaker not explicit in the snippet)

Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra

Type: kshetra

Listener: Ṛṣis / audience of the māhātmya

Scene: A moral ‘worldly example’ scene: a modest woman becomes bold after wine—shown as a transformation from veiled restraint to unhesitating posture, with the narrator’s didactic presence.

FAQs

Intoxication erodes hri (moral modesty) and leads to careless conduct; restraint supports Dharma.

Prabhāsakṣetra is the setting of the Māhātmya, though the verse itself is general ethical instruction.

No ritual is prescribed; it is a warning about the moral consequences of drinking.
