गोदावर्य्यां भवेत्पुण्यं वसतो वर्षसंख्यया । तत्फलं समवाप्नोति गोमतीसेवनाद्द्विजाः
godāvaryyāṃ bhavetpuṇyaṃ vasato varṣasaṃkhyayā | tatphalaṃ samavāpnoti gomatīsevanāddvijāḥ
ഹേ ദ്വിജന്മാരേ! ഗോദാവരീതീരത്ത് വർഷങ്ങളോളം വസിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ ലഭിക്കുന്ന പുണ്യം, അതേ ഫലം പവിത്ര ഗോമതിയെ ഭക്തിയോടെ സേവിക്കുന്നതുമാത്രം കൊണ്ടു ലഭിക്കുന്നു.
