गौर्युवाच । सापत्न्यजेर्ष्यया देव मया लिंगं प्रकल्पितम् । तस्मात्कटेश्वराख्या च लोके चास्य भविष्यति
gauryuvāca | sāpatnyajerṣyayā deva mayā liṃgaṃ prakalpitam | tasmātkaṭeśvarākhyā ca loke cāsya bhaviṣyati
ഗൗരി അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ ദേവാ! സപത്നീ-സ്പർധയിൽ നിന്നുയർന്ന അസൂയകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ ഈ ലിംഗം സ്ഥാപിച്ചു; അതിനാൽ ലോകത്തിൽ ഇതിന് ‘കടേശ്വര’ എന്ന നാമവും പ്രസിദ്ധമാകും।
