श्रीमहादेव उवाच । कर्त्तव्यं जाह्नवि श्रेयः पुरो गत्वा नगात्मजाम् । अत्यर्थं मानिनी ह्येषा साम्ना च वशवर्तिनी
śrīmahādeva uvāca | karttavyaṃ jāhnavi śreyaḥ puro gatvā nagātmajām | atyarthaṃ māninī hyeṣā sāmnā ca vaśavartinī
ശ്രീമഹാദേവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു—ഹേ ജാഹ്നവീ, നീ ആദ്യം മുന്നോട്ട് ചെന്നു പർവതപുത്രി (പാർവതി)യെ സമീപിക്കുന്നത് ശ്രേയസ്കരം. അവൾ അത്യന്തം മാനിനി; എങ്കിലും മൃദുസാമത്തോടെ വശമാകും.
