pulastya uvāca | kuṃḍaṃ tu śivaliṃgākhyaṃ tato gacchenmahīpate | yatra sā jāhnavī guptā tiṣṭhate bhūpasattama
Pulastya
Tirtha: Śivaliṅga Kuṇḍa
Type: kund
Listener: King (Mahīpati/Bhūpasattama)
Scene: A pilgrim-king is guided by sage Pulastya toward a serene pond named Śivaliṅga; subtle divine presence of Gaṅgā is suggested—perhaps a faint river-goddess form rising from the waters, half-hidden, indicating ‘gupṭā’ Jāhnavī.
Pilgrimage is a guided dharma: the Purāṇa directs the seeker from one sanctified spot to the next, revealing hidden holiness.
Śivaliṅga-kuṇḍa, associated with the concealed presence of Jāhnavī (Gaṅgā).
A pilgrimage injunction: “one should go” to the Śivaliṅga-kuṇḍa (implying worship and bathing to follow).
