शुकेनावेदितो वह्निः शप्त्वा तं मन्युना वृतः । गद्गदा भावि ते वाणी प्रोक्त्वेदं प्रस्थितो द्रुतम्
śukenāvedito vahniḥ śaptvā taṃ manyunā vṛtaḥ | gadgadā bhāvi te vāṇī proktvedaṃ prasthito drutam
ശുകൻ കാണിച്ചുതന്നപ്പോൾ, കോപത്തിൽ മൂടപ്പെട്ട വഹ്നി (അഗ്നി) അവനെ ശപിച്ചു—“നിന്റെ വാക്ക് ഗദ്ഗദമായി, അഥവാ തട്ടിത്തടഞ്ഞു വരും.” ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് അവൻ വേഗത്തിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.
