bāṣkaliruvāca | gaccha dūtavara brūhi śrīmātāṃ cāruhāsinīm | bhāryā me bhava suśroṇi ahaṃ te vaśagaḥ sadā
Bāṣkali
Tirtha: Arbuda
Type: kshetra
Scene: Bāṣkali, proud and desirous, dictates to a messenger: ‘Tell Śrīmātā… become my wife.’ The messenger stands uneasy. In the background, the sacred mountain and a distant, serene Devī presence contrast with the asura’s arrogance.
Adharma disguises itself as submission, but its intent is domination; the Purāṇas warn against pride that challenges the Divine.
The episode is anchored at Arbuda mountain, the abode of Śrīmātā.
No ritual instruction appears; this is a narrative speech by Bāṣkali.
