Transliteration

lakṣadvādaśabhiḥ proktaṃ yugaṃ tretābhisaṃjñitam | ṣaṇṇavatyadhikaiścaiva sahasraiḥ parimāṇitam

Translation

ത്രേതാ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന യുഗം പന്ത്രണ്ടു ലക്ഷം എന്നു പ്രസ്താവിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിനുമേൽ കൂടി തൊണ്ണൂറ്റാറായിരം വർഷം ചേർത്ത് അതിന്റെ അളവ് നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു।
