प्रोक्तं च कार्तिके मासि कृत्तिकास्थे निशाकरे । सम्यग्भीष्मव्रतं कृत्वा स्नात्वात्र सलिले शुभे
proktaṃ ca kārtike māsi kṛttikāsthe niśākare | samyagbhīṣmavrataṃ kṛtvā snātvātra salile śubhe
കാർത്തിക മാസത്തിൽ ചന്ദ്രൻ കൃത്തികാ നക്ഷത്രത്തിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുമ്പോൾ, വിധിപൂർവ്വം ഭീഷ്മവ്രതം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ച് ഇവിടെ ഈ ശുഭജലത്തിൽ സ്നാനം ചെയ്യണമെന്ന് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു।
