सूत उवाच । आसीद्भानुमतीनाम बलभद्रसुता पुरा । सर्वलक्षणसंपन्ना रूपौ दार्यगुणान्विता
sūta uvāca | āsīdbhānumatīnāma balabhadrasutā purā | sarvalakṣaṇasaṃpannā rūpau dāryaguṇānvitā
സൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് ബലഭദ്രന്റെ പുത്രിയായ ഭാനുമതി എന്നൊരു കന്യക ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൾ സർവ്വശുഭലക്ഷണസമ്പന്നയും രൂപവതിയും മഹത്തായ ഗുണങ്ങളാൽ സമന്വിതയുമായിരുന്നു.
