ततस्ते ब्राह्मणास्तत्र संहृष्टा वरमुत्तमम् । ददुस्तस्य स च प्राह मन्नामैतत्पुरोत्तमम् । सदैव ख्यातिमायातु एतन्मे हृदि वांछितम्
tataste brāhmaṇāstatra saṃhṛṣṭā varamuttamam | dadustasya sa ca prāha mannāmaitatpurottamam | sadaiva khyātimāyātu etanme hṛdi vāṃchitam
അപ്പോൾ അവിടെയുള്ള ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ആനന്ദത്തോടെ അവനു ഉത്തമമായ വരം നൽകി. അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഈ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ നഗരം എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അറിയപ്പെടട്ടെ; ഇത് എപ്പോഴും ഖ്യാതി പ്രാപിക്കട്ടെ—ഇതാണ് എന്റെ ഹൃദയാഭിലാഷം.”
