वरुपूजोपहारैश्च नैवेद्यैर्विविधैस्ततः । ततो वर्षसहस्रांते स दैत्यो दुःखसंयुतः
varupūjopahāraiśca naivedyairvividhaistataḥ | tato varṣasahasrāṃte sa daityo duḥkhasaṃyutaḥ
അവിടെ അവൻ വരപൂജയുടെ ഉപഹാരങ്ങളും വിവിധ നൈവേദ്യങ്ങളും അർപ്പിച്ച് ആരാധിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും ആയിരം വർഷാന്ത്യത്തിൽ ആ ദൈത്യൻ ദുഃഖബന്ധിതനായിത്തന്നെ നിന്നു.
