विश्वामित्र उवाच । यदि तुष्टोसि देवेश यदि देयो वरो मम । तन्मे स्यात्सृष्टिमाहात्म्यं त्वत्प्रसादान्महेश्वर
viśvāmitra uvāca | yadi tuṣṭosi deveśa yadi deyo varo mama | tanme syātsṛṣṭimāhātmyaṃ tvatprasādānmaheśvara
വിശ്വാമിത്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ദേവേശാ! നീ പ്രസന്നനായിരിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ, എനിക്ക് വരം നൽകുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, ഹേ മഹേശ്വരാ! നിന്റെ പ്രസാദത്താൽ സൃഷ്ടിമാഹാത്മ്യത്തിന്റെ പുണ്യവിവരണം എനിക്ക് ലഭിക്കട്ടെ.
