स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय शापाद्भीतो नगोत्तमः । न जगाम पुनर्वृद्धिं तस्यागमनवांछया
sa tatheti pratijñāya śāpādbhīto nagottamaḥ | na jagāma punarvṛddhiṃ tasyāgamanavāṃchayā
പർവ്വതശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ “തഥേതി” എന്നു പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്ത്, ശാപഭീതിയാൽയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ (അഗസ്ത്യന്റെ) വരവിനുള്ള ആഗ്രഹത്താൽയും വീണ്ടും വളരുകയില്ലായിരുന്നു।
