| sūta uvāca | agastyasyāśramo'nyosti tathā tatra dvijottamāḥ | yatra tiṣṭhati viśvātmā svayaṃ devo maheśvaraḥ
Sūta
Tirtha: Agastya-āśrama (another hermitage)
Type: kshetra
Listener: dvija-uttama(s) (assembled sages/brāhmaṇas)
Scene: A forest hermitage with Agastya’s hut and a sacred grove; Śiva appears or is felt as an immediate presence—either as a luminous ascetic form or as a liṅga radiating within the āśrama.
A tīrtha becomes supremely sacred where the Lord is present; divine presence sanctifies geography and practice.
Agastya’s hermitage (Agastya-āśrama) presented as a sacred locus where Maheśvara abides.
None in this verse; it introduces the site and its defining sanctity (Śiva’s presence).
