मधूक तव पुष्पेण दयितायाः समौ शुभौ । कपोलौ पांडुरच्छायौ दृष्ट्वा त्वां स्मृतिमागतौ
madhūka tava puṣpeṇa dayitāyāḥ samau śubhau | kapolau pāṃḍuracchāyau dṛṣṭvā tvāṃ smṛtimāgatau
ഹേ മധൂകവൃക്ഷമേ! നിന്റെ പുഷ്പം കണ്ടാൽ എന്റെ പ്രിയയുടെ രണ്ടു മംഗളകരമായ കവിളുകൾ—പാണ്ഡുരഛായയോടെ മനോഹരമായവ—സ്മൃതിയിൽ ഉയരുന്നു; നിന്നെ കണ്ടതോടെ ആ ഓർമ്മ വീണ്ടും മടങ്ങി വന്നു।
