अहं हि ब्राह्मणो नाम्ना वत्सः ख्यातो महीतले । नानाशास्त्रकृताभ्यासः पुराऽसं वेदपारगः
ahaṃ hi brāhmaṇo nāmnā vatsaḥ khyāto mahītale | nānāśāstrakṛtābhyāsaḥ purā'saṃ vedapāragaḥ
ഞാൻ സത്യത്തിൽ ഒരു ബ്രാഹ്മണനായിരുന്നു; ഭൂമിയിൽ ‘വത്സ’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധൻ. മുൻപ് ഞാൻ പല ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളും അഭ്യസിച്ച് വേദപാരംഗതനായിരുന്നു।
