उपकारिषु यः साधुः साधुत्वे तस्य को गुणः । अपकारिषु यः साधुः कीर्त्यते जनैः
upakāriṣu yaḥ sādhuḥ sādhutve tasya ko guṇaḥ | apakāriṣu yaḥ sādhuḥ kīrtyate janaiḥ
ഉപകാരം ചെയ്യുന്നവരോടു മാത്രമേ സദ്ഗുണനായിരിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ, ആ സദ്ഗുണത്തിൽ പ്രത്യേക മാഹാത്മ്യം എന്ത്? എന്നാൽ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നവരോടും സദ്ഗുണനായിരിക്കുന്നവനെയാണ് ജനങ്ങൾ പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നത്।
