सूत उवाच । तथेति तैः प्रतिज्ञाते चतुश्चरणसंभवैः । ब्राह्मणैर्याज्ञवल्क्यस्तु विज्ञातो येन केन तु

sūta uvāca | tatheti taiḥ pratijñāte catuścaraṇasaṃbhavaiḥ | brāhmaṇairyājñavalkyastu vijñāto yena kena tu

സൂതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—വേദത്തിന്റെ നാലു ‘പാദ’ങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ച ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണർ ‘തഥാസ്തു’ എന്നു സമ്മതിച്ച് പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ, ഏതോ വിധത്തിൽ യാജ്ഞവൽക്ക്യൻ രാജാവിന് പരിചിതനായി.
