वाण्युवाच । बिल्वपत्रस्य माहात्म्यं कथितुं नैव शक्यते । तवोद्देशेन वक्ष्यामि महेन्द्र शृणु तत्त्वतः
vāṇyuvāca | bilvapatrasya māhātmyaṃ kathituṃ naiva śakyate | tavoddeśena vakṣyāmi mahendra śṛṇu tattvataḥ
വാണി പറഞ്ഞു—ബിൽവപത്രത്തിന്റെ മഹാത്മ്യം പൂർണ്ണമായി വിവരിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല. എങ്കിലും നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം, ഹേ മഹേന്ദ്രാ, ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു; തത്ത്വമായി ശ്രവിക്കൂ.
